The perspective in Ancient Greece: composition principles

Abstract
In Ancient Greece, architectonic ensembles were organised according to certain composition principles which later on were used all too infrequently. They are the principles used in building a perspective image. There are two fundamental composition principles used in the Ancient Greek ensembles: the perspective with an open view in its axis and the perspective with two vanishing points of architectural objects. Both composition principles had human scale and integration in nature as their main features. These features cause the Greek architectural ensembles to stand apart from the architectural ensembles of the other ancient cultures (Ancient Rome and Ancient Egypt). It is necessary to study and acknowledge the Ancient Greek principles for the organisation of architectural ensembles, as a possibility of recovering the human and natural scale of construction ensembles, as a means for man's return to nature.
